Gillette Fundraiser
The Bourne Skating Club staffs a concessions
booth at the stadium and are obligated to work 2 soccer events, the
concerts and all Patriots games. We earn a percentage of the sales
of all food and non-alcoholic beverages served (12.5% plus 1%
additional for booth cleanliness and 1% for being on time). The
average for working an event last season averaged out to be $79.00
per person per event worked. This season we are not averaging but
distributing funds per event.
It is a great way to help offset the costs of
your skating bills. The monies earned at Gillette may be used
toward freestyle ice bills, team related expenses, and walk-on ice
sessions. Interest is increasing in working the booth because of
the success of the syncho team and the TOI team so sign up early
before the slots are taken! It is a great way to meet the other
parents of the club. It is a long day but we have fun! This will
be my 4th season working the booth and we have a great core group of
parents so we hope you join in the hard work and fun!
I need 14 people to fill the booth for the big
events and would like 16 to allow for breaks etc. You must wear khaki/tan pants
or shorts and closed toe shoes.
Gillette provides the shirts, visors and aprons. If interested
in participating please contact Caryn Mori at 508-224-4524 or at
tcmcmm92@verizon.net or

1. Event list for Gillette will be posted on club website and Gillette coordinator’s contact information will be listed.
2. Sign up for events are on a first come, first serve basis. Sign up for events should be done far in advance to allow the Gillette coordinator to manage the booth successfully.
3. Two family members per skating membership may sign up for any given event.
4. Once committed to an event date, member must make every effort to fulfill that commitment A volunteer who cancels within 7 days will then be removed from a subsequent event as determined by the Gillette coordinator. This event will be decided based on staffing levels. In addition to removal from a future event, if Gillette has to provide fill-ins because of a no-show, then the volunteer will be docked from their Gillette account, the amount of money charged against the booth by Gillette. A second offense will result in the individual only being allowed to go on the stand-by list for the remainder of the season, as well as being docked the appropriate amount charged by Gillette.
5. A standby list has been established. The standby list is created for fill-in purposes. If your name is on the list, you must be available until the morning of the event. Only four (4) people can be on this list for any given event. If an event is not full seven (7) days prior, the Gillette Coordinator will call the fill-ins. Priority for fill-ins will be given to families not already signed up to work the event.
6. Only two (2) volunteers age 17 and under (minors) are allowed at any given event per rules issued by Gillette Stadium. All minors will be provided a list of the required duties while at Gillette.
7. Monies earned at the Gillette fundraiser may be applied to a member’s ice costs, test sessions, and directly billed team costs. Monies cannot be used for membership dues.
Prior to the first event worked, the coordinator will meet with volunteers to go over duties/expectations. A copy of this policy and guidelines will be given to each participant. Also, policy and guidelines will be posted on the BSC website. |
